"In your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you." - 1 PETER 3:15
Peter was just one disciple whose life was forever changed by Jesus. Related to the opening verse, he was the first to identify Jesus as the promised Savior and Son of God, but he then quickly stuck his foot in his mouth by trying to tell Jesus how to be the Messiah (Matt. 16:22). Later, Peter was caught off guard before the crucifixion and denied knowing even Jesus three times (Matt. 26:69-75). After Jesus’ resurrection, Peter not only preached the first sermon (Acts 2:14-40) but was constantly being questioned and challenged by the same religious leaders who had Jesus executed and regularly imprisoned or beat Peter (Acts 3–5).
What does 1 Peter 3:16 say about the attitude we should have toward people who don’t know Christ yet?
