Trajectory is everything!

It’s important that we get started off right – how you start a year can create a trajectory for the rest of the year?

It’s very important because if you get started off wrong it can really mess up the trajectory that God has for us in 2022.

You let a space shuttle that’s going off into outer space be off be one degree on planet earth and when it gets above the atmosphere it will be thousands of miles from it’s intended destination.

Why? Because trajectory is everything.

If we start the year with the continued mindset of 2021 – and don’t allow God to renew our minds and our way of thinking, we can actually enter into this new year with an old mind set and never experience anything fresh in our life.

Let’s go to Psalm 23 –

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Here is what I believe God is speaking to us for 2022 in verse 5 -

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

There are 2 words primarily used in the Old Testament for anoint – and the most common is the one that we think of when we think of the word anoint – and it is the Hebrew word “Mashach”.

To Mashach is to take oil on put it on or in your hand and then to place it on or pour it out of a vial on someone’s head.

This word anoint in Psalm 23 is not Mashach – meaning to anoint with oil. But this is the Hebrew word - Daw shane.

And this word is only used a handful of times in the entire Old Testament - it doesn’t mean to anoint with oil like Mashach. But it is Daw Shane and it means to make fat.

He anoints your head with oil – He makes your head a big head – fat head.

It’s not He’s just going to pour oil on you – but he going to enlarge it. It is a Hebrew idiom – trying to tell you that your mind is about to get bigger – your head is about to expand – he’s about to change the way you think in 2022!

Get ready to enlarge the way that you have been thinking about God!

His Breakthrough Glory is about to break the chains of bondage over the way that you have always thought that you aren't worthy, you can't do it, you will always be this way!

Trajectory - Let's get started right so that we may reach the intended destination He has for us!

Prayer: Father, renew our minds so that we may think good thoughts that line up with your Word, and declare your glory and victory over our lives! Amen.
